Disney Pixar’s new animated movie ‘Lightyear’ has released on the 17th of June 2022 in the theaters. And the film has been banned by 14 countries including the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Why is the film Lightyear banned?

The reason behind this is showing two women characters, who are partners, exchange a kiss. This is not the first time Previously Hollywood films having mentions of or showing LGBTQ characters on screen have been censored in many countries.

Studios are often told to cut those scenes and parts from the movies before their release in the theaters.

The film has been banned Largely in Southeast Asia and the Middle East mainly under laws that ban homosexuality or its depiction onscreen.
