63-year-old Ralf Rangnick went in an agreement with Manchester United to become their interim manager. He is seen as the ‘godfather’ of modern coaching in Germany.

He is leaving his job as head of sports and development at Lokomotiv Moscow. He has agreed to a six-month deal until the end of May. Also as a director of football, Ralf has been very successful.

Although the deal is being finalized it does not appear that Ralf will oversee the Red Devils until the end of the season.

In 2020 when he was asked for his thoughts on the Red Devils’ struggling back-line, Rangnick said: “I also think they could do with a left-back.

“I know they have Luke Shaw but I am not so sure if he’s still on the same kind of level that you need to be for a club like Manchester United.”
