‘Pegasus’ is a spyware used to snoop into handsets.It was said that in case of a missed video also the mobile users data can be tracked through this spyware.This spyware was developed by an Israeli firm.
Smartphones were hacked to get confidential information,according the to investigation by The Washington Post and 16 media partners.The reports claimed the spyware was used in India to target the phones of several prominent journalists and politicians.
In India, attempted Pegasus targets reportedly included the leader of the political opposition, activists fighting for lower-caste empowerment, an independent member of the election commission and even a well-known virologist.
