The galaxy’s most beloved sci-fi spoof is returning to theaters. Spaceballs 2, the long-anticipated sequel to Mel Brooks’ 1987 cult classic, is officially in production and set for a 2027 release.
With a blend of returning legends and fresh talent, this sequel promises to deliver the same irreverent humor that made the original a fan favorite.
A Stellar Cast Returns
Fans of the original Spaceballs will be thrilled to see many beloved characters return. Mel Brooks reprises his dual roles as Yogurt and President Skroob, while Rick Moranis makes a highly anticipated return to live-action acting after a 28-year hiatus, stepping back into the iconic role of Dark Helmet People.com.
Bill Pullman returns as Lone Starr, and Daphne Zuniga reprises her role as Princess Vespa. George Wyner also returns as Colonel Sanders.
Joining the original cast are new additions including Josh Gad, who co-wrote the film with Mel Brooks, Benji Samit, and Dan Hernandez.
Gad also stars in the film, bringing his comedic flair to the galaxy far, far away. Other newcomers include Keke Palmer, Lewis Pullman (Bill Pullman’s son), and Anthony Carrigan, though their specific roles have not been disclosed.
