Alice Thompson wanted to work shorter hours to pick her daughter up from nursery

Alice Thompson was awarded £185,000 by an employment tribunal .Alice raised her voice against the working hours.She asked to reduce the working hours so that she can pick her her daughter from school.

Ms Thompson was a successful sales manager at small independent estate agents in central London before she got pregnant in 2018.The news is getting viral on the social media.

“I’d put my heart and soul into an estate agency career for more than a decade,” she told BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour.

She wanted to return to work after maternity leave,when she asked her employer that can she work for shorter hours, a four day week, and leave at 5pm,so that she can pick her daughter up from nursery.

Her manager said they couldn’t afford for her to work part time.
