Kriti Sanon Opens Up About The Gender Pay Gap In Bollywood

Kriti Sanon is very much vocal when it comes to fighting for what she deserves.She came up with the topic that a significant pay gap exists between male and female actors, often irrespective of the role or job.

Criticism of Pay Disparity By Kriti

Kriti Sanon has openly questioned the significant pay gap between male and female actors in Bollywood. She pointed out that male actors often earn up to ten times more than their female counterparts, even when the male actors have not had a hit film in years.

She finds that there is no justification for this.She finds this disparity unjustifiable, especially since the effort and work put in are the same regardless of gender.

Kriti Sanon Points Out How Producer “Fear” Creates a Vicious Cycle

The actress explains that smaller budgets for women-led films lead to constrained marketing, which in turn limits box office returns and justifies the initial fear.She explains that the female lead films are often allocated smaller budgets because producers fear these films will not recover their investments.

Kriti Hopes for Change

The actress also brought up the topics of female lead film to explain the topi.She acknowledged that some female-led films, like Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022), have been made with larger budgets and achieved success.
