The much-anticipated sequel to Kalki 2898 AD has already created headlines, not just for its futuristic storyline but also for the surprising exit of Deepika Padukone from the project.
Vyjayanthi Movies, the production house behind the blockbuster, officially confirmed that they could not reach an agreement with the actress, leading to her departure from the sequel.
According to industry reports, Deepika Padukone demanded a 25% hike in her acting fee compared to the first film. She also reportedly requested her shooting hours be limited to seven hours a day, along with five-star accommodation for her 25-member crew.
While the producers tried to negotiate by offering luxury vanity setups and flexible rest arrangements, the terms could not be finalized.
Despite her exit, Deepika Padukone continues to be one of Bollywood’s most bankable stars, and her future projects will be closely watched. Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD 2 promises to raise the bar in Indian cinema with its ambitious storytelling and star-studded cast.
