Odisha Job News : Odisha took a major stride toward industrial expansion and employment generation as Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi laid the foundation stone for 27 new projects across 12 districts.
With a massive combined investment of ₹25,380 crore, these projects are expected to generate over 51,800 direct and indirect jobs, creating a transformative impact on the state’s economy.
A New Era of Industrial Growth
The projects span multiple sectors, signaling Odisha’s commitment to moving beyond mineral dependency and embracing high-value manufacturing and green industries.
Investments are pouring into renewable energy, advanced downstream industries, pharmaceuticals, textiles, steel, chemicals, and solar power.
CM Majhi underlined that the government’s vision is to make Odisha a preferred investment hub, not only in India but also in the global market.
”We are committed to ensuring the speed of doing business. Odisha will offer incentives that equal or surpass those provided by other states,” he said during the foundation ceremony.
Employment with a Local Focus
A striking highlight of CM Majhi’s leadership has been his emphasis on local employment generation. Since taking office, the government claims that 80% of jobs created in new industries have gone to Odisha natives. Of the 77,894 jobs generated so far, more than 56,800 were given to local youth.
This policy has dual benefits: reducing the out-migration of skilled workers to other states, while also ensuring inclusive growth across Odisha’s districts. With the fresh 27 projects, more than 51,000 additional jobs will soon be available, many of them aimed at young graduates, technical professionals, and semi-skilled workers.
